We took our second trip to the Gillett Childrens Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota to have the specialists look at Audrina's Arm. Though she can move her hand and her shoulder she has not make any progress with moving bending her elbow or lifting her arm. The doctors have decided to have us come back on 2/9/09 to check to see if she had made any other progress, if not they will do an EMG test on her.
This test will allow them to see which nerves are working and what they need to fix. This is a pretty harmless test. They will give Audrina a medicine to help her relax and then give her a topical numbing agent on her arm before they start. It only takes around 45 minutes and she will be able to come home that day. If this test gives the doctors all the information they need about what is wrong with her arm then we will go forward with surgery in March. The only way this could change is if she makes progress and begins bending and lifting her arm. We are very optomisic about the EMG and Surgery if need be! I will keep everyone updated when we know for sure what is going to happen!
Otherwise Audrina is doing great. She is talking all the time and LOVES to chew on her fingers and thumb. She is balancing her head great and loves to sit up to see everything that is going on! I cant believe how big she is getting!
